The DVSA has introduced the MOT Tester Award to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to perform MOT tests effectively. Upon completing the course, a DVSA Vehicle Examiner will evaluate your competence through a practical VT8 Demo MOT Test. Once you pass, you’ll receive official authorisation to conduct MOT tests.

The Award in MOT Testing for Classes 4 and 7 is a lifelong qualification, meaning once you’ve successfully completed the course, it remains valid indefinitely. However, to keep your certification up to date, you must complete the annual MOT Annual Refresher Training.
